The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators came to us looking to modernize their digital footprint and reach new members. Our team overhauled the content, design, and code of their website, leveraging photography and video to strengthen AAMVA’s brand and emotional messaging. The fresh interface and strategic navigation inspires new members to sign up, while better surfacing content for existing audiences.

Wireframes

We worked with the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators to identify how to improve the organization and structure of their content. We then created a series of wireframe layouts to chart each component and user interaction.

Finding a Style

In order to identify AAMVA’s visual aesthetic and project goals, we created three unique mood boards. Each board combined design, color, and typography to create an overall look and feel.

Design

Following feedback from the style exploration, we created three distinct design concepts to fine tune our final visual direction. With a concept selected, we integrated remaining feedback and brought the final design to life through a series of high-fidelity screen comps for desktop and mobile interfaces.

Front End Development

After finalizing the new website design, we built a series of templates using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. The templates established user experience and overall site functionality. We collaborated with a development partner who implemented our final templates into AAMVA’s existing Drupal Content Management System.

Digital Style Guide

We created a comprehensive Digital Style Guide for the AAMVA team to use as a design and functionality reference when editing and updating the website. The guide includes examples of custom modules, color palette, typography, user interactions, and photography treatments.
