There are few American broadcasters as iconic as PBS.

So when they asked us to create a site for their series, Iconic America, we couldn’t stop at a promo page. We worked with PBS producers and subject experts to create a robust package of sites, interactives and animations.

Animation

Writing, Illustration, Motion, Sound

An eight-hour TV series is tough to show in class, and impossible to share on social media. That’s why we created an eight-minute animated version that hits the crux of the content and saves the deep dive for the full series. Reducing content to its essence – being short and sweet – is our specialty. Check out the animated series.

Interactive

Writing, Illustration, Coding, Motion, Sound

Nothing says Iconic America like a good old fashioned road trip, so we ventured into the national archives to create an interactive Travel Journal. We collaged our way through 250 years of ephemera, footage, images, and illustration, eventually creating 35 unique videos and housing them within 8 interactive scrapbook pages. Check out the interactive and video.

UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Coding

After presenting wireframe concepts, we created a design that could integrate all the different series products into one responsive interface. We anchored each page design around a key episode from the broadcast series, strategically including interactive content. Subtle motion graphics enhanced the visual design, guiding users fluidly through the site. Scroll around on the website for yourself.
