When Madeira High School started planning their new enrollment campaign, they realized it was time to build a microsite that focused on their true audience – their students. We worked with the Madeira team to imagine a fresh concept utilizing animation, typography, illustration, and video. Our challenge was to create a site that appealed to prospective students, while still delivering important information to their parents.

Wireframes & Proof of Concept

As we reviewed content and goals with the Madeira team, we concepted a single-page scrolling solution to reach potential students on the devices they use. Our team first presented this idea through wireframes and a coded proof-of-concept to demonstrate how the site would function.

Design

We anchored the site’s interactive design with Madeira’s video and photography, enhancing the visual experience with custom illustration. To craft a polished final design, we incorporated custom typography, a vibrant palette, and playful embellishments.

Illustration

In selecting an illustrator for the site, we looked for hand-drawn styles that captured the feeling of a student’s doodles. We leveraged the chosen style to create clean embellishments with a joyful, spontaneous energy.

Development

With design and functionality approved, our team built out the full website in WordPress using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Once complete, we reviewed the website admin with the Madeira team so that they could perform edits and updates.
